took leave for a week for a 8 day trip to australia. have been saving up n looking forward to it as it is a good chance for me to visit my brother studying there. Best thing, all expenses there will be covered for by richard. wink, shiok shiok, lala yaya papaya.
we arranged to meet in melbourne first n travel ard b4 going b to my brother's hometown in brisbane. in order to save money, i bought from jet star tat requires me to go to darwin first b4 going to melbourne. singapore customs actualli allowed me to bring my oversized luggage bag over despite my budget travel light ticket. but i was punished in darwin when they refused n i had to give it away. i managed to sell it for 5 australian dollars to some los angelas travellers who chose to work in darwin for 2 months. well, at least they were happy. e bag was worth 36 sing dollars.
reached melbourne airport, n journeyed further to e hotel to meet my brother n his 2 friends pierre and justin. i met them b4 n i liked pierre's friendly personality. justin, however proved to be embarrassing n a stressful person to be with. justin however had no mean intentions, juz tat he is alwas shooting pple n showing off. first day was light with juz dinner n casino n a bit of shopping. bought a poker book there.
on our 2nd day, we travelled to penguin island n see penguins return b from e sea to their tunnels. they dun walk, they waddle... so cute lah... my brother was disapointed though. he did not get to take pictures of e penguins coz it was not allowed. we bought e more expensive tickets to be in e front line to take pictures... n yet they dun allow... e flash will scare the penguins.
e 3rd day we went to see e 12 apostles. it was a long 4.5 hour journey, but justin is a good friend of richard, hence he did not mind. i owe him one there. passed by e great ocean road too. it is meaningful to c my brother take pictures along e way as it is his new found passion with his 3k worth of camera. v happy to c him enjoying his life e australian way. e 12 apostles was so geography lah.. teachings on how they were formed brings me memories of my younger days learning geography. meanwhile, my brother continued taking photos, enjoying his own world of photography.
4th day, we went to an open zoo. it is like e safari in africa, juz tat dun have elephants, which realli dissapointed me. it was cool, as we took e safari private tram ride, n we had great services. my brother of coz, took photos of e animals. justin was irritating the driver n our guide though, with all his animal discovery questions. i dunno whether to slap him or be amused.. he juz enjoys disturbing pple.. but u should see his photography skills. he taught my brother a lot., for which i am grateful. as i said, he is richard's good friend, for which i am grateful
melbourne trip was honestly a bit too rushed. also e overnight airflight trip to melbourne eventually got into me n fatigue was an issue. justin (either intentionally or unintentionally) has made himself e star of e trip. he recommend us to a lot of good food, taught my brother a lot of photography stuffs, treat us to abundance of large apple mangoes (for onli $1.20 each!), irritate everyone except himself, drive us around and amuse us at the same time. awesome,.. great. it was a pity tat i onli spend one night in e Crown Casino ( n lose $155) there. e rakes were horrible but i could not help it. if onli i had more time to stay in Crown. Spending only one night in Crown is my deepest regret in Melbourne.
