Shadow of Rome

it was a good thing tat e programme Linsien planned out for us was packed, in a way, it prevented us from missing Paris. we reached rome ard late afternoon. i like rome for e roman feeling they give out which is alwas emphasised in e comics Asterix and also in e computer game Shadow of Rome which me n my brother tact teamed to complete. shadow of rome is abt 2 young men hu discovered e dark scandals of e assasination of julius cesear n plot to save rome from political destruction. one of them is good at fighting n ended up playing as a gladiator while e other one Octavious is a thief who sneaks ard e palace n secret areas to "obtain" evidences. i ended playing as a thief while my bro played as e gladiator who won over the crowd in e colloseum. 2 totalli different aspects of e game,n yet they bring out e atmosphere of rome so clearly. hence i was able to appreciate rome well. But like a shadow, rome had its nightmares too,for me literally. i dreamt that e there were thieves who were behind me n cut open e cushion seat to steal my wallet. this was largely due to jough jingh having her purse stolen n rica getting her bag cut. poor jough jingh, after getting her camera stolen in disneyland paris, this have to happen to her again. n it happened even b4 we realli started exploring rome. needless to say she had no mood to visit rome n had to make a police report, queing up with many other fellow victims. haiz, this is one of e onli few drawbacks of been good looking. looking like a pure sinless angel, jough gingh no doubt drew attention from any evil thieves at first glance. no,put it more explicitly, her demure vulnerable looks can even convert a person to a potential thief, let alone in a place with a "steal at first sight" policy. Rica also onli realised her bag was cut much later in e day,tat is how professional they r. it moz likely occured on e train whereby e girls were left alone as e 4 of us guys were sort of forced to split up in e huge traffic. this is how dangerous italy is in security. every tourist entered rome noeing of e dangers n yet many get their things stolen in a moment of weakness.
e rest of us went on to explore e colloseum, e ruin city, a fountain which i forgot e name haha n a catholic church. it was super tiring to climb to e top fo e church but we got to c e top view of rome. we were less impressed than e rest after juz been in paris which had a nicer view at Montmarte. bascally, rome was a time for me to sort of commemerate n feel e roman atmosphere juz like in e game shadow of rome. i also imagine e thieves lurking around everywhere like in e show.
outside e colloseum, i am v sure someone tried to steal my wallet as an woman touched my jeans. i turned b immediately n she gave me a nervous grin. i quickly walked away. Shilvia later asked me at a shop about e male sexual organs coz a tourist pants displayed the male organs v realistically. i explained to her, at e same time speechless at e innocence of a uni undergrad. man, talk abt country bumkin. i also tried to bargain for a bag,but the italian was super rude n asked me to go if i not interested to buy.
tat nite,we went b to e hotel n comforted jouh ginh. we also planned our time in rome tml, when we realise...linsien booked for us e morning train ticket to vernice. 7 am n 7pm! so much difference.. we could not go shopping liao n slept a little onli b4 going to vernice.
tat morning, i came to e conclusion moz italians r fucked up. we were preparing to go to e train n i was checking out for e group. e receptionist with his poor english could not understand me n yet accused me of speaking poor english! italians in general realli dun like chinese pple.. it was obvious here with his racist comment abt me a chinese dare to come to italy when i dun noe how to speak english! i was not even speaking singlish then, more proper english as i was used to it at tat time after mixing with ava, mike mirani n vanessa often in INT.
too bad,no shopping in rome. but to e city of vernice we go!
